week beginning 25th September

This week we have been working on 'greater than, less than and equal to' in maths.

In phonics we are working at Floppy's phonics stage 4 - in this stage we reinforce and consolidate the phonemes learned previously and use them to read and write longer words. This week we have been concentrating on ch, sh, th, ng, nk, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, oo, ar, or, ur, er, er, reading and making words such as; church, splash, drinks, ankle, teeth, three, paintings, croak, lightning, train, float, purple, sister, stormy and then writing  sentences containing the words - thinking about a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence, finger spaces in between the words and a full stop at the end.

Following the story we wrote last week about the 'Naughty Bus', this week we have written another story about 'The Naughty Bus at Night'.

spellings for this week are; the, said, was, went, have, put

In PE we played some team games. Please, please can you remember to check that your child's clothing is named, it makes getting dressed after PE and ensuring that children have the correct item of clothing so much easier and much less time-consuming, thank you.

We have been practising our drawing skills and have been playing some games to work on listening and following instructions.

In our computing lesson this week we had some helpers from Y6 to help the children learn how to log on and log off and they had a go at some 'dance mat typing', I have put the link below.
