5th November

This week we enjoyed talking about Bonfire Night and fireworks. We have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light and the story of Rama and Sita.

In our PSHE lessons the theme for this half term is 'Celebrating Difference' - we have been thinking about what is the same or different about us and other members of the class. We have been thinking about our likes and dislikes and our favourite things.

In maths we have been working on 'finding a part' and missing numbers, so, if the 'whole' or total is 8 and we know that one 'part' is 5, we can work out that the missing part is 3. We have been doing this by counting on, if we put 5 'in our head' and count on to 8, we know that we need to add 3 more on to 5 to make 8.

5 +      = 8

On Friday afternoon we enjoyed making our own poppies for Remembrance day.

It was great to see you and talk to you at Parents Evenings this week - the main message is please read to and with your child at home, this is one of the best ways to support their learning.
