25th March

In maths this week we have been measuring, we started the week comparing objects to see which was longest, shortest, tallest or shortest, we then moved on to measuring objects using non-standard units such as cubes and paperclips and then we progressed to using rulers to measure in centimetres.

In phonics we have been working on the phonemes; oi oy ow ou  ough this week.  (last weeks phonemes were oo, ou, ough, ue, ew, ui, u)

In PSHE we have been learning the green cross code and how to cross the road safely and thinking of ways to keep healthy, clean and safe throughout the course of a day.

The new book that we are working on in English lessons is 'One Day on Our Blue Planet ...In the Savannah' by Ella Bayley. We have been working on adjectives and writing descriptive sentences, we have been thinking carefully about interesting ways to start a sentence.

We have continued our animals topic, thinking about animals which live in hot places as well as animals from cold places and how they have adapted to suit their habitats.

On Friday afternoon we enjoyed the Spring sunshine, getting outside for fresh air and exercise and a healthy snack!
