Positive Recognition:

We use positive recognition to encourage pupils to behave appropriately at all times. We believe that this is the best way to ensure that children make the right behaviour choices.
Praise and reward is celebrated at a personal, class and whole school level.

Examples we use include:

  • Achievement award system Points may be earned for a variety of reasons e.g., real successes and improvements in work, setting good examples of behaviour etc.. These will be rewarded at the discretion of members of staff to meet the needs of either the class or the individual. Rewards will be given at milestones across the school (see below.)

  • Celebration assemblies will celebrate Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum achievement awards for all children in the school (achieved through the points system above)
  • Book Cards will be awarded to celebrate a great achievement, commitment to school activities or excellent behaviour such as being a role model to others or representing the school positively
  • Postcards, Notes or Telephone calls to parents from the child’s class teacher or a Principal or senior member of staff
  • Class rewards. Children will be able to earn points either collectively or individually for their class. A reward will be arranged by the class / teacher when they have earnt a set number of points. All children will access this reward with the only possible exceptions being those children who have reached the severe consequence OR seen a senior member of staff during the week due to poor behaviour choices.
