This term we will be studying World War II and the children have already started sharing information about what their family members did in the war. We are encouraging the children to continue to research their family from the front lines to the home front. The children will be creating silhouettes of the London skyline during the blitz and a local trip is also being planned. Most of the other subjects will be related to World War II with the children writing letters as soldiers to creating pillboxes in computing.
* Children should be reading daily and discussing what they have read on a regular basis with an adult. The children are responsible for completing their own reading journal.
* ALL children are expected to know multiplication facts and related division facts to 12x12. Children should be practising and consolidating basic numeracy facts regularly.
*Children have weekly spellings to learn and will be tested every Friday.
* PE kits should be available in school at all times – Thursday afternoon is the regular slot for Year 6 PE but is subject to change.
